We are calling for Expressions of Interest from experienced and motivated Field Service Fitters to join our Cairns team, supporting customers across the Marine and Power Generation sectors.

n

This is an exciting opportunity to work on world-class equipment across navy, commercial and private vessels, while being part of a high-performing team delivering exceptional service in a dynamic field environment.

What you'll be doing

n

As a Field Service Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will:

n

n
- Provide on-site support – travel to customer locations to deliver maintenance, repairs and technical support.
n
- Diagnose and repair – perform fault finding, breakdown response and warranty work to minimise downtime.
n
- Rebuild and service equipment – carry out engine rebuilds, servicing and major component repairs.
n
- Maintain performance – ensure equipment is returned to service safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
n
- Deliver customer value – provide exceptional service to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
n
- Work safely, always – follow all workplace health and safety procedures and best practices.
n

What you'll need

n

A successful teammate will bring:

n

- Trade qualification – Certificate III in Engineering (Diesel Fitting preferred) or similar mechanical trade
n
- Relevant experience – working on industrial engines (marine experience highly regarded)
n
- Strong technical skills – excellent diagnostic and fault‐finding capability
n
- Self‐motivation – the ability to work independently and proactively in the field
n
- Safety focus – a strong commitment to safe work practices and quality outcomes
n
- Communication skills – effective time management and transparent communication
