Job Description
Project Director - Major Regional Infrastructure Project

Backed by more than 40 years of success delivering major infrastructure projects, Bielby is seeking an exceptional Project Director to lead its first major infrastructure project win in NSW.
n
The role will initially be based in Sydney during design, before mobilising to a regional site. This is a career-defining opportunity to take ownership of a $400M major regional infrastructure project that will restore and strengthen critical transport links across regional New South Wales. More importantly, it is an chance to play a key role in Bielby's strategic expansion within NSW and establish a lasting legacy with a contractor that empowers its leaders to make decisions and drive outcomes.

This role offers full project lifecycle ownership, from design stage, strategic planning and stakeholder engagement through to successful delivery, commercial performance, and client satisfaction.

What You'll Do
n
n
- Provide executive leadership across all aspects of the project overseeing the design phase and through to mobilisation and completion.
n
- Develop and execute the project delivery strategy, ensuring safety, commercial, quality, program and stakeholder objectives are achieved.
n
- Lead and inspire a high-performing project team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and excellence.
n
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with government agencies, local authorities, clients, consultants and key project stakeholders.
n
- Drive project financial performance through rigorous forecasting, risk management, contract administration and commercial leadership.
n
- Oversee procurement strategies, subcontractor management and supply chain performance.
n
- Manage the challenges associated with large-scale regional project delivery, including workforce planning, resource mobilisation and logistics.
n
- Lead project governance, reporting and performance reviews at both project and executive level.
n
- Ensure Bielby's safety-first culture is embedded across all project activities.

What You'll Bring
n
n
- 15+ years of civil construction experience, including significant leadership experience on major road, transport or infrastructure projects.
n
- Proven success delivering projects valued from $400M+ within complex stakeholder environments.
n
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
n
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated expertise in contracts, risk, forecasting, claims and project controls.
n
- Exceptional leadership capability with the ability to build, mentor and retain high-performing teams.
n
- Experience working closely with government clients, infrastructure authorities and major stakeholders.
n
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
n
- A strategic mindset with the ability to balance operational delivery, commercial performance and long-term business objectives.
