Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for an accomplished senior finance leader to join a leading Australian financial services organisation as Head of Group Financial Control.
n
Reporting to the General Manager, Financial Control, this is a critical leadership role responsible for safeguarding the financial integrity of a large and complex group. You will oversee statutory, investor and regulatory reporting, technical accounting, audit management and financial governance, while maintaining a robust financial control setting.

Working closely with the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, Board and Audit & Risk Committee, you will provide trusted advice on complex accounting matters and lead a high-performing financial control team.
n
In this broad based and challenging role you will take responsibility for Group reporting and financial control across a diverse portfolio of legal entities and investment structures.
n
Alongside maintaining high standards of governance and regulatory compliance, you will drive continuous improvement, automation and transformation initiatives across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead Group statutory, investor and regulatory reporting.
n
- Maintain a robust and effective financial control framework.
n
- Provide technical accounting leadership across complex transactions and emerging accounting standards.
n
- Oversee consolidation and reporting across multiple legal entities and investment structures.
n
- Lead the external audit process, including planning, execution and stakeholder management.
n
- Prepare and present financial insights to the Board, Audit & Risk Committee and Executive Leadership Team.
n
- Drive finance transformation,
process improvement and automation initiatives.
n
- Lead and further develop the high-performing financial control team.
n
- Maintain Group accounting policies and ensure their consistent application.
n
- Partner with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Company Secretariat and business leaders to support strategic outcomes.
n
- Provide accounting and due diligence expertise across acquisitions, integrations, restructures and divestments.
n
- Oversee financial control activities across a complex, regulated financial services environment.
n
n
You are an experienced finance executive with deep technical accounting and reporting expertise gained within financial services or another similarly complex and highly regulated organisation.
n
As the ideal candidate you bring
n
n
- A CA qualification or equivalent.
n
- Significant experience in financial control, corporate reporting or senior finance leadership.
n
- Strong technical accounting and statutory reporting expertise.
n
- Experience operating within the financial services sector.
n
- Big Four audit experience, which will be highly regarded.
n
- A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
n
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
n
- Confidence presenting to executive leadership, Boards and Board committees.
n
- A commercial mindset with sound judgement and problem-solving capability.
n
- A hands-on leadership style focused on accountability, performance and continuous improvement.
n
