About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate First XVIII Football Coach to lead our boys' football program and help shape the future of football at Immanuel College.
This is far more than a game-day coaching role. We are looking for a strong leader and mentor who can build a high-performance culture, develop young athletes, and contribute to a clear football pathway from Years 7 to 12.
Working closely with the Head of Football and Coordinator of Boys Sport, you will drive player development, support and mentor coaches across the program, and foster a culture that reflects the values of Immanuel College both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the College's First XVIII Football Team.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual football program, including pre-season preparation, training sessions,
match-day coaching and performance review.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture that reflects the values and expectations of Immanuel College.
- Develop individual players through targeted coaching, feedback and development plans.
- Build strong relationships with players, families, SANFL clubs and the wider football community to support player pathways.
- Mentor and support coaches across Years 7 to 12 to ensure consistency in coaching philosophy and player development.
- Analyse game footage, player performance and team trends to drive continuous improvement.
About You
- Level 2 Coaching Accreditation (minimum requirement).
- Significant experience as a football coach and/or player, ideally including senior or representative-level involvement.
- A proven ability to develop young athletes and mentor fellow coaches.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and leadership capabilities.
- A commitment to creating positive sporting experiences for students and families.
- Current Working With Children Check or the ability to obtain this prior to commencement.
Training and Season Commitments
The role includes:
- Two to three training sessions per week including before and after school sessions during Term 1 pre-season.
- Two training sessions (midweek 3pm – 5.30pm) and one game per week during the season (Saturday 1pm-5.30pm).
- Match review session to take place once a week (time negotiable).
- A twelve-game season (Term 2 and Term 3), together with associated planning, communication and player development responsibilities.
