About the role

n

The Next Generations Pastor will provide spiritual, pastoral and strategic leadership for the children, youth and families of Highfields Church of Christ. This is both a pastoral and pioneering role—strengthening an established Kids ministry while building a sustainable Youth ministry for the future. This part-time role (3 days per week) is centred on Sunday ministry and discipleship. You will support our existing Kids ministry while leading the development and launch of a Youth ministry.

Key responsibilities

n

- Provide leadership and oversight to Kids and Youth ministries
n
- Disciple and build relationships with children, young people and families
n
- Recruit, equip and support volunteers
n
- Partner with parents in the discipleship of their children
n
- Develop pathways from Kids ministry into Youth and from Youth into the wider life of the church
n
- Ensure ministries are safe, sustainable and well organised
n
- Commitment to following, implement and help improve our church safe guarding policies
n
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Pastors and wider church team
n

- A committed and growing follower of Jesus with a heart for the next generation

- Relational and able to connect with children, young people and families
n
- A leader who equips and encourages others
n
- Able to teach the Bible in an engaging and age-appropriate way
n
- Organised and able to manage a part time workload
n
- Able to work well within a team
n
- Alignment with the beliefs and values of Highfields Church of Christ
n
- Current Queensland Blue Card, or ability to obtain one prior to commencing child-related work
n
- Demonstrated experience leading or significantly contributing to Kids and/or Youth ministry, including developing volunteers or ministry teams
n
