About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Taxi Tech Technician to support the assessment, repair, installation and optimisation of in-vehicle technology across our taxi fleet. This role is critical to keeping vehicles on the road, operational, and compliant.
You’ll work with MTData dispatch equipment, EFTPOS machines, taxi meters, security cameras and other in-vehicle systems, supporting both workshop-based and driveway service repairs. This role suits someone who enjoys practical, technical work, problem-solving, and working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities

- Conduct Network Vehicle inspections
- Diagnose, assess, repair and maintain:
- Taxi meters
- Security camera systems
- Other in-vehicle technology and taxi equipment
- Perform fault diagnosis and identify required parts and materials
- Assist with diagnosis of vehicle issues related to dispatch, camera and in-vehicle technology systems
- Install, de-install, terminate and recommission vehicle systems as required




- Remove and apply decals, stickers and livery to vehicles
- Interpret technical manuals and software to identify spare parts
- Liaise with the TAXITECH Team Leader regarding parts ordering
- Carry out driveway services and on-site fault repairs where required
- Maintain workshop equipment, supplies and preventative maintenance
- Complete and maintain accurate service and administrative records
- Comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and work instructions
- Support additional TAXITECH duties and projects as required

About You
Essential

- Ability to work autonomously and within a team

- Comfortable working with diverse cultures
- Hands-on interest in vehicle systems and technical equipment

Desirable

- Experience with vehicle installations (e.g. stereo installs, meters, dispatch systems)
- Experience with fleet maintenance, inspections or in-vehicle technology
- Exposure to EFTPOS, security cameras, or telemetry systems
- No formal qualifications required — candidates without direct experience are encouraged to apply. Full training will be provided for the right attitude and aptitude.
