We are seeking an experiencedNetwork Designerto develop secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective network solutions acrosson-premises, data centre, and cloud-connected environments.

The role will translate business and project requirements into detailed technical designs, configuration guidance, implementation plans, cost estimates, and operational handover documentation.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, project managers, delivery teams, and operations teams to deliver high-quality enterprise network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and document enterprise network solutions acrossLAN, WAN, MAN, Data Centre, Transit, and Cloud environments.
- Develop detailed solution designs, configuration specifications, integration guides, cost estimates, and implementation documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with architecture standards, security policies, IT standards, and approved design patterns.
- Work with Network, Security, and Application Architects to develop integrated solutions.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
- Prepare implementation, testing, change, backout, and operational handover plans.
- Support design reviews, change approval, and operational acceptance processes.
- Develop reusable network design patterns, templates, work instructions, and operational guides.
- Contribute to network platform lifecycle planning, technology refresh, optimisation, and standardisation.
- Participate in technical assessments, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), product evaluations, and vendor assessments.




- ProvideLevel 3 technical supportfor complex network issues.
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem Incident Reviews (PIR).
- Troubleshoot implementation and upgrade issues and coordinate with vendors when required.
- Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, cost optimisation, and improved network resilience.
- Maintain awareness of emerging networking and cloud technologies.

Technology & Technical Skills

- Strong experience with enterprise network design and engineering.
- Expert knowledge ofLAN, WAN, MAN, and Data Centre networking.
- Physical and virtual routers and switches.
- Network segmentation and connectivity.
- Routing and switching technologies, particularlyCisco.
- OSPF and BGP.
- NAT, NTP, DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM).

Network Security

- Enterprise firewall and cybersecurity platforms.
- Firewall policy design and implementation.
- IDS/IPS.
- Remote access and network security.
- Understanding ofZero Trust principlesand security enforcement.

Strong knowledge of networking across:

- AWS– Direct Connect, VPC, Transit Gateway.
- Google Cloud– Partner Interconnect and VPC.

Experience with multi-cloud networking and IaaS connectivity is highly desirable.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

- Terraform
- Ansible
- GitLab
- APIs and API integration
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Network automation and orchestration

Monitoring & Observability

- Network monitoring and logging.
- Telemetry and network visibility.




- Packet capture and troubleshooting tools.
- Operational resilience and specialised monitoring appliances.

Qualifications & Experience

- Degree inInformation Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum5 years of experiencedesigning and engineering large enterprise network systems.
- Strong hands-on experience in enterprise network and security infrastructure.
- Strong expertise inLAN, WAN, and Data Centre network integration.
- Proven experience producing technical solution designs and detailed documentation.
- Strong business requirements analysis and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

Highly Desirable

- CCNP or CCIEcertification.
- EfficientIP, Infoblox, Fortinet, Check Point, or other major vendor certifications.
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud networking/security certifications.
- CISSPor equivalent cybersecurity certification.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Confluence, MS Project, and Visio.
- Experience with network monitoring, logging, packet capture, and debugging tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong technical documentation and solution design capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across architecture, engineering, delivery, and operations teams.
- Strong attention to detail and design governance.
- Ability to prioritise multiple projects and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong focus on security, resilience, operational readiness, and cost optimisation.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Australian Permanent Resident.

Experience in a similar role

- 5+ years of relevant experience.
