Production Manager – Security Technology & Operations

Lead the team. Own the operation. Drive improvement.

iDetect Group is a growing Australian security technology company delivering innovative CCTV, monitoring and security solutions across the construction, commercial and residential sectors.

We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of our Victorian production operations and lead a growing team from our Braeside facility.

Reporting directly to the State Manager, this is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys managing people, improving processes and making sure things get done properly and on time.

You don’t necessarily need to come from the security industry. If you have strong production leadership experience within a technical, electrical, manufacturing or assembly workplace, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day performance of the production department, including people, workflow, quality, inventory, safety and delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead, supervise and develop the production team

Plan daily and weekly production schedules around upcoming installations and customer requirements

Allocate labour and resources to maximise productivity

Oversee the building, programming, testing and preparation of security equipment

Manage stock levels, purchasing and inventory control

Monitor production performance, quality and departmental KPIs

Identify bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements

Develop and maintain SOPs, checklists and production procedures

Maintain high quality‑control standards across completed equipment

Conduct workplace inspections, toolbox meetings and safety audits

Maintain a clean, organised and safe production environment

Train, mentor and develop team members

Assist with recruitment, onboarding and performance management

Provide regular production updates to the State Manager

Provide occasional after‑hours technical support when required

About You

We’re looking for a leader who takes ownership.

You’ll be organised, practical and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment. You’ll know how to set expectations, hold people accountable and build a positive, productive team culture.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

Previous experience managing a production, manufacturing, workshop or technical team

Strong leadership and people‑management skills

Experience within a technical assembly, electrical, electronics or similar setting

Excellent planning and organisational skills

Strong problem‑solving ability

Experience improving processes and operational efficiency

Understanding of inventory and stock management

Experience with quality assurance and continuous improvement

Strong written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail

A proactive, solutions‑focused approach

The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities

Highly Regarded

Security industry experience

CCTV, IP camera, alarm or electronic security knowledge

Electrical or communications experience

Technical assembly or manufacturing experience

Inventory management experience

Process improvement experience

Experience developing SOPs and operational procedures

Requirements

Current Australian Driver's Licence

Security Licence, or willingness and ability to obtain one

White Card, or willingness to obtain one

First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one

Why Join iDetect Group?

This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain an existing production department. We're looking for someone who wants to take ownership, improve the operation and make their mark.

You'll have the opportunity to:

Lead and develop a growing production team

Have genuine ownership of the production operation

Introduce new processes and improvements

Work with evolving security and monitoring technology

Work closely with senior management

Join a growing Australian business with opportunities for further development

If you're an experienced Production Manager, Workshop Manager, Operations Manager or Technical Team Leader looking for your next challenge, we'd like to hear from you.
