Job Description

n
- Define and govern reference architectures, standards and guardrails across cloud, SaaS, integration, identity, networking, observability and automation platforms
n
- Provide strategic architecture leadership across Azure, AWS and broader enterprise platform ecosystems
n
- Partner with engineering teams to uplift platform engineering capabilities, automation practices and AI-assisted design and delivery approaches
n
- Strengthen governance across cloud and SaaS platforms, including security, resilience, compliance, lifecycle management and vendor oversight
n
- Drive platform roadmap and investment decisions to maximise business value, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency
n
- Lead architecture outcomes across complex transformation programs, ensuring scalable and secure solutions aligned to enterprise standards
n
- Engage with senior executives and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations
n
- Coach and mentor architects, engineers and delivery teams
n
- Promote infrastructure as code, DevOps, observability and service reliability engineering
n
- Identify emerging technologies and opportunities to enhance AGL's platform capabilities and architecture landscape
n
- Report to the Manager, Integration, Data and AI/ML Architecture

Requirements

n

n
- Extensive experience in platform, cloud or enterprise architecture roles within large and complex organisations
n
- Deep expertise across Azure and multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Kubernetes, platform engineering, automation and infrastructure as code
n
- Solid knowledge of SaaS and integration architectures, including API‐led integration, identity federation, enterprise platforms and lifecycle management
n
- Proven ability to define architecture strategies, reference architectures, standards and governance frameworks
n
- Strong understanding of cloud security, resilience, compliance, risk management,



zero‐trust principles and FinOps practices
n
- Hands‐on experience designing and operating enterprise‐scale platforms, with a focus on reliability, performance and scalability
n
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled engineering and design practices
n
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
n
- Strong leadership capability with experience coaching architects, engineers and delivery teams
n
- Proven success leading architecture outcomes across large transformation programs
n
- Experience within the energy sector or other highly regulated, asset‐intensive industries highly regarded
n
- Relevant Azure, AWS and cloud architecture certifications advantageous
n
- Successful completion of a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and medical assessment if necessary
n
