Senior AI Engineer | Azure AI Foundry

Design and deliver enterprise AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI and generative AI technologies. Build AI agents, intelligent applications and secure, scalable AI services across a complex Australian Government environment.

Location: QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW
n Work Arrangement: Hybrid – ACT candidates may be required onsite in Canberra three days per week and/or as required; interstate candidates may attend a state office or regional hub and travel to Canberra as required.
n Contract Duration: 12 months with 2 x 12-month extension options
n Security Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain Baseline
n Closing Date: Friday, 18 September 2026 • 11:59pm Canberra time

Essential Tasks

- Design, build and deploy AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry and Microsoft AI services.
n
- Develop AI agents, generative AI applications, machine learning solutions and RAG architectures.
n




- Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems, applications and data platforms.
n
- Apply AI engineering, DevOps and MLOps practices across secure, scalable AI solutions.
n

Key Criteria

n

n
- Demonstrated enterprise AI delivery experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Services and generative AI.
n
- Solid experience developing AI agents and integrating AI with enterprise systems and data platforms.
n
- Expertise across Python, REST APIs, Azure OpenAI, RAG, GitHub/Azure DevOps and MLOps.
n
- Experience applying responsible AI, security, privacy and governance requirements.
