Job Description
We are recruiting for a HSE Manager for an EPC contractor specialising in the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia, leading and managing health, safety and environmental requirements across its operations.
n
This is a FIFO senior, hands-on HSE role responsible for ensuring works are undertaken safely and compliantly, while supporting project teams with practical HSE advice and ensuring regulatory, client and management system requirements are met.
n
Working closely with senior leadership, project teams and site-based personnel, the HSE Manager will play a key role in maintaining strong safety standards, improving HSE systems and driving a positive safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide leadership and oversight of HSE activities across the business and its operations.
n
- Support management and site teams in maintaining a secure and compliant working environment.
n
- Monitor HSE performance and identify opportunities to strengthen safety practices and processes.
n
- Ensure appropriate risk controls are in place and regularly reviewed.
n
- Provide guidance on workplace health, safety and environmental matters to employees and management.
n
- Maintain and improve HSE systems, procedures and supporting documentation.
n
- Coordinate safety initiatives, training and workforce engagement activities.
n
- Support the investigation of incidents and ensure agreed actions are followed through.
n
- Prepare HSE reporting and provide management with visibility over key trends, risks and performance.
n
- Coordinate internal and external compliance and audit activities.
n
- Support injury management and Return-to-Work processes where required.
n
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain consistent HSE standards.
n
- Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage continuous improvement across the organisation.
n

Key Requirements
n
n
- Previous experience in an HSE leadership or senior advisory capacity within a construction, engineering or project-based environment.
n
- Strong working knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
n
- Experience working with HSE management systems, policies and procedures.
n
- Sound understanding of workplace risk management and hazard identification.
n
- Experience supporting incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
n
- Ability to provide practical and commercially sensible HSE advice to operational teams and management.
n
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence people at different levels of an organisation.
n
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
n
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take a practical approach to HSE matters.
n
- Competent with standard Microsoft Office systems and HSE reporting tools.
n

Qualifications
n
n
- Relevant qualification inWork Health & Safety, with a Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent.
