Barmera Hotel is looking for a passionate and capable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in the heart of South Australia’s Riverland.

Located near beautiful Lake Bonney, Barmera offers a fantastic lifestyle with boating, fishing, water sports, wineries, local produce and a strong community atmosphere.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive Venue Manager and crew, help shape the food offering and play an important role in growing the venue’s food trade.

The Role:

Working closely with the Head Chef and Venue Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day kitchen operation and deliver consistent, quality pub food.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting and leading the kitchen team during service

Maintaining food quality, presentation and consistency

Assisting with menu development and specials

Managing stock, portion control and wastage

Maintaining strong food safety and cleanliness standards





Training and supporting junior kitchen staff

Contributing ideas to help grow the venue’s food offering

About You:

We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef or experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up

Takes pride in quality, consistency and presentation

Can stay organised and calm during busy services

Enjoys leading and developing a team

Understands food safety, stock control and kitchen costs

Wants to contribute ideas and help grow a venue
