About the role

McPherson & Gray is seeking an experienced CA Qualified Manager to join our growing boutique accounting practice. Working directly with the Director, you'll play a key role in reviewing compliance work, managing workflow across our offshore accounting team and helping maintain the high standards of service our clients have come to expect. This role has been created to provide additional review and workflow management capacity, allowing the Director to focus more heavily on client advisory, strategic projects and relationship management.

Key responsibilities

- Review financial statements and income tax returns

- Manage workflow across our offshore accounting team

- Review work completed by offshore staff and provide guidance and feedback

- Manage a portfolio of business, investment and family group clients

- Assist with tax planning and business advisory engagements

- Liaise directly with clients and become a trusted adviser

- Support the Director on complex taxation and advisory matters

- Assist with workflow improvements and practice efficiencies

- Ensure work is delivered accurately and on time

About you

- CA Qualification (CAANZ)





- Significant Australian Public Practice experience

- Previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Assistant Manager or Manager

- Experience reviewing work prepared by other accountants

- Experience managing workflow and offshore teams

- Strong technical taxation knowledge, including Tax Planning and Structuring, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Personal Services Income, and Payroll Tax

- Strong communication and client relationship skills

- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset

- Experience with Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
