Sand & Loam Pty Ltd t/a Mt Compass Sand & Loam is a family-owned small South Australian company operating a sand mine producing high grade washed and raw sand products for use in landscaping, ovals, construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors. The loader operator role involves operating quarrying equipment at the Mt Compass site. Onsite training will be provided. A successful applicant will be required to undertake a paid one-week trial.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a front-end loader loading/unloading trucks and other site loading activities
- Operate dump truck, water truck and weed control vehicle if required
- General laboring, yard and maintenance, cleaning and removing excess sand
- Keep equipment clean and tidy
- Robust commitment to all Work Health & Safety laws ensuring compliance with policies and safety standard
About you
- Minimum 12 months+ in similar position would be highly desirable but not essential
- Must wear a fitted half face P2 mask for some outside tasks as the site is high risk for silica exposure for most sand processing activities (masks not required while operating loader provided all risk controls met)
- Must be cleanshaven
- Pass a drug/alcohol and pre-employment medical
- Hold current SA driver's licence
- Industry tickets for operating equipment desirable but not essential
- Be punctual, diligent and ready to learn new skills
- Two references must be supplied for most recent periods of employment
- Prior experience operating a loader is not essential; applicants with an aptitude for operating vehicles and mechanical plant or equipment are encouraged to apply
