- Lead the Board of a respected Gippsland social enterprise
- Voluntary governance leadership opportunity
- Morwell, VIC; hybrid
Latrobe Valley Enterprises (LVE) is a Gippsland-based social enterprise creating meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities for people living with disability.
While there are other community organisations that support people to participate in meaningful employment, LVE is distinctive in both helping people secure work with external employers and directly employing people through its own commercial business units. In doing so, LVE delivers quality products and services while creating opportunities for people to build skills, confidence, independence and connection through work.
For more than 50 years, LVE has combined commercial success with social impact. Now, as the organisation enters an exciting new phase of growth and evolution, LVE is seeking an experienced and values-driven Board Chair to provide governance leadership and help guide its next chapter.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to lead the Board of a respected social enterprise at an exciting phase of growth and development.
As LVE continues to evolve, the Chair will play a central role in guiding strategic discussions, supporting Board effectiveness and helping the organisation navigate future opportunities and change.
Working closely with fellow Directors and the Chief Executive Officer, the Chair will support effective governance, foster a collaborative and high-performing Board culture, and help ensure the organisation remains focused on its purpose, strategic goals and long-term sustainability.
The Chair will play a key role in:
- Leading the Board in fulfilling its governance responsibilities
- Facilitating effective Board meetings and strategic discussions
- Supporting a constructive and productive relationship between the Board and CEO
- Championing LVE's mission, values and social impact objectives
- Promoting strong governance, accountability and ethical leadership
- Representing the organisation with key stakeholders and within the broader community
As Chair, you will help guide an organisation that balances commercial sustainability with meaningful social impact, ensuring LVE continues to create employment opportunities for people living with disability across Gippsland and beyond.

LVE is seeking an experienced Board leader who can provide strong governance oversight, foster a collaborative and high-performing Board culture, and build an effective partnership with the CEO.

- Board experience, ideally including Chair, Deputy Chair or Committee Chair responsibilities
- Strong governance, leadership and strategic thinking capability
- The ability to facilitate constructive discussion, encourage diverse perspectives and guide effective decision-making
- Experience building productive relationships with CEOs, senior executives and stakeholders

Experience in legal and regulatory environments, governance, risk, commercial leadership, disability services, community services, social enterprise or government sectors will be highly regarded.
Why Join the Board?
Every strategic decision at LVE has the potential to create meaningful employment opportunities for people living with disability.
As Board Chair, you will help lead an organisation with a proud 50-year history and an exciting future, guiding strategy, supporting sustainable growth and ensuring lasting impact for individuals, families and communities across Gippsland.
