About the role

We're after a warm, organised Front Desk Receptionist to join our team of three receptionists covering our five operating days. You'll be the first voice patients hear on the phone and the first face they see when they walk in — often when they're a little nervous — so the way you make people feel matters just as much as how well you run the desk.

Key responsibilities

- Answer phones and manage bookings with warmth and accuracy

- Check patients in and out, and keep the front desk running smoothly

- Keep the appointment book full — filling cancellations, managing recalls and no-shows

- Take and allocate patient payments, process health fund claims, and balance the till at the end of the day

- Keep invoices organised and passed on to the right place for processing

- Help nervous or first-time patients feel comfortable and cared for

About you

- Previous reception, customer service, or front-desk experience (dental or medical experience is a bonus, not essential)

- Confident on the phone and comfortable juggling a busy front desk





- Careful with detail — especially with patient records and end-of-day payments

- A genuine, friendly manner — you like people, and it shows

- Comfortable with (or quick to learn) practice management and rostering software
