Employment type: Full time, permanent (38 hours per week plus reasonable additional hours)
We are looking for a permanent full-time Chef to join our friendly kitchen team at our Restaurant. Job description duties and responsibilities:
- Plan menus, seasonal specials and function offerings; estimate food and labour costs; and order food supplies and kitchen stock
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure a consistent standard
- Discuss food preparation and service issues with management, kitchen and waiting staff, and dietary/nutrition requirements where required
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise kitchen staff on cooking procedures
- Prepare and cook food across all sections of the menu, including seafood and grill
- Explain and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations, including safe food handling and allergen management
- Select and train kitchen staff
- Freeze and preserve foods to manage stock and minimise wastage
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking a candidate who possesses the following qualifications, experience, and abilities:
- Relevant AQF Certificate IV in kitchen management, Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma qualification.
- 1-3 years of relevant, full-time employment experience, depending upon qualifications held.
- Ability to work on a full time basis essential.
Salary:
- $85,000 to $95,000 Per annum (+Super)
Full Time:
- 38 hours per week minimum
