FIFO Engineering Surveyor

FIFO

About the Role

Geo360 is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Engineering Surveyor to grow with us.

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable FIFO Engineering Surveyor to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established, forward-thinking organisation at the beginning of its growth journey. With an expanding project portfolio and ambitious plans for the future, the successful candidate will have the prospect to play an important role in building our surveying capability and helping shape the way we deliver our services.

The role will involve working on a range of civil, structural and infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on engineering set-out, earthworks, concrete, structures, as-built surveying and machine control.

This is more than a surveying position — it is an opportunity to grow with the business. As Geo360 expands, there will be genuine opportunities to take on greater responsibility, develop your technical capabilities and progress into senior, project or leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver accurate and efficient engineering surveying services across civil, structural and infrastructure projects.

- Carry out construction set-out for earthworks, concrete, structures, roads and associated civil works.

- Establish and maintain survey control networks, benchmarks and site reference systems.

- Undertake detailed surveys using total stations, GNSS/GPS and other modern surveying technology.

- Set out concrete works including footings, slabs, walls, columns, formwork and structural elements.

- Complete earthworks set-out, including excavation, levels, grades, batters, formation and final trim requirements.

- Support machine control and machine guidance operations, including model preparation, data management, machine setup and verification.

- Conduct as-built surveys and provide accurate survey records and deliverables.

- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

- Process, check and manage survey data to maintain a high standard of accuracy.

- Work closely with engineers, project managers, supervisors, contractors and plant operators to ensure works are constructed in accordance with design.

- Identify and resolve survey discrepancies and technical issues efficiently on site.

- Maintain accurate survey records and project documentation.

- Contribute to improving Geo360's surveying systems, technology, processes and workflows.

- Represent Geo360 professionally when working with clients, contractors and project teams.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, reliable, practical and takes pride in delivering accurate work.

The ideal candidate will have:

- A relevant surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience.

- 3–5 years' practical experience in engineering or construction surveying.

- Strong experience in construction set-out, particularly earthworks and concrete.

- Sound understanding of survey control, levels, coordinates, grades and construction tolerances.

- Experience with machine control and machine guidance systems is highly desirable.

- Strong practical experience using total stations and GNSS/GPS equipment.

- Experience with surveying and CAD software such as 12d Model, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center or Leica Infinity.

- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and specifications.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively to project deadlines.

- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a project team.

- Strong communication skills and a professional approach.

- Willingness and ability to work on a FIFO roster.

- Current Australian driver's licence.

- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Desirable Experience

- Drone surveying and data capture.

- Machine control and machine guidance technology.

- Civil infrastructure and major construction projects.

- Digital surveying and 3D modelling workflows.

- Experience with modern survey and construction technology.

What We Offer

Grow With Us

Geo360 is a newly established organisation with significant room for growth and career progression.

Joining us at this stage means you won't simply be stepping into an established position — you'll have the opportunity to help build the business, contribute ideas, develop your skills and grow your career alongside the organisation.

- FIFO employment on a full-time basis.

- Genuine opportunities for career progression as Geo360 grows.

- Opportunity to progress into Senior Surveyor, Project Surveyor or leadership roles.

- Exposure to diverse civil, structural and infrastructure projects.

- Modern surveying equipment, technology and software.

- Training and professional development opportunities.

- Opportunity to develop specialist skills in machine control, digital surveying and 3D modelling.

- A supportive and collaborative team environment.

- The opportunity to have your experience and ideas directly influence the development of our systems and operations.

- A company culture built around quality, safety, professionalism, innovation and continuous improvement.

Your role can grow as Geo360 grows.

If you're looking for a company where you can make an impact rather than simply fill a position, this is an opportunity to get involved at the ground level and help shape what Geo360 becomes.
