Content Creator, Air Conditioning Industry (yes, really) | Melbourne | Full Time
If you are stuck making content that nobody asked to see, keep reading.
You know the feeling. You post something you actually think is good, and it gets 40 views and two likes from people you already know. Or worse, you're on a shoot with a client who wants "professional" content, which really just means boring, and you know the second it goes up it's going to blend into the wallpaper of everyone else's feed.
Or maybe it's the opposite problem. You're freelancing, chasing the next gig, never sure if next month pays rent, doing one off UGC videos for brands you'll never speak to again, with zero say in the strategy and zero say in whether any of it actually worked.
Either way, you're capable of more than what you're currently allowed to do. That's what this role is for.
We're Tradie Force. We run marketing for air conditioning companies across Australia, and honestly, we're the biggest name doing it. Yes, air conditioning. Stick with us. We're about to lock in a partnership with one of Melbourne's biggest air conditioning distributors, we're launching our own software, and we are hiring the Content Creator who's going to help us go loud on all of it.
What the job actually is
You'll be on site with tradies across Melbourne (and every now and then Sydney, or wherever else our clients are) making content that doesn't look like an ad. Behind the scenes stuff. Their humour. Their personality. The kind of thing that makes someone stop scrolling because it feels like a person, not a brand.
Here's the part that matters.
We already have scripts and systems that work. You're not walking in and guessing what performs, and you're not stuck reinventing everything from scratch either. You take what already works and you make it sharper, funnier, more you. If you've got ideas we haven't tried, we want to hear them, not file them under "maybe next quarter."
One more thing worth saying straight up. A lot of our clients are tradies who are great at their job and awkward as hell on camera. Getting a genuinely stiff, nervous bloke to relax, joke around and actually enjoy being filmed is half the skill in this role. If you're the kind of person who can walk onto a job site and have the whole crew laughing within five minutes, that's exactly the energy we're after.
What you won't be doing
You're not a videographer. Nobody's asking for cinematic drone shots or a perfectly colour graded edit. If you're more excited about gear than about people and personality, this probably isn't your role.
What we actually want from you
Confidence on camera and off it, enough to direct a shoot and get real, unscripted reactions out of people who are camera shy Genuine creative instinct, not just someone who executes a brief,
but someone who improves it Someone who wants to build a career here, not fill a gap between jobs Someone who can be trusted to get the work done without someone standing over them checking in every hour
We don't care much about your years of experience or what your show reel looks like. We care whether you can walk into a room of tradies and own it, and whether you can think like it's your own business, not someone else's task list.
Hours, and how we actually run things
Forty hours, five days. But we're not running a prison. If the work's getting done and it's getting done well, we're not clocking your coffee breaks or asking why you left at 4:47pm on a Tuesday. What we need in return is someone who doesn't need to be chased. If you're the kind of person who needs constant check ins to stay on track, this won't be a fit, and that's fine, it's just not this role.
Why now
We're two years in and growing fast, current software, a major distribution partnership, more clients coming on every month. This isn't a role where you do the same four tasks on repeat for the next two years. If you've got bigger goals for yourself and you actually want a place where those goals have room to happen, we want to hear from you.
To apply
Skip the generic cover letter. Tell us what you're actually chasing right now, what's driving you, and why this role fits into that. We care more about your energy and your drive than a polished paragraph about your "passion for content creation."
