KSC Law is a veteran-founded law firm supporting Australian veterans and their families across DVA, CSC, TPD and related legal matters. We also operate a Veteran Pro Bono Centre for veterans and families experiencing financial hardship.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced external relations skilled to strengthen KSC Law’s public profile and community connections.

You will build relationships with journalists, producers, veteran organisations, charities and community partners. You will identify opportunities for KSC Law to contribute informed commentary to national and local news, while also coordinating partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising events and community initiatives.

This role would suit someone with experience in journalism, news production, media relations, public affairs or external communications.

Key responsibilities

- Build relationships with national and local journalists, editors and producers.

- Identify newsworthy stories and commentary opportunities.

- Prepare media pitches, briefing notes and interview talking points.

- Coordinate television, radio, print, online and podcast opportunities.

- Develop partnerships with veteran organisations,



charities and community groups.

- Coordinate KSC Law’s participation in fundraising events, sponsorships and community initiatives.

- Track media coverage, partnerships, events and outcomes.

- Ensure external communications are accurate and appropriate for a legal practice.

About you

You will have:

- Experience in journalism, media relations, news production, public affairs or external communications.

- A strong understanding of Australian national and local media.

- Excellent writing and communication skills.

- The ability to identify and develop newsworthy stories.

- Confidence building relationships with journalists, producers and community organisations.

- Strong organisation, judgement and follow-through.

Experience in the veteran, Defence, legal, government, health or not-for-profit sectors will be highly regarded.
