About the role

Felix & Co Accounting is a growing Australian accounting firm providing tax, compliance and business advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of new business clients, we are seeking an experienced Tax & Business Services Manager to work directly with our Directors and take ownership of the day-to-day management and review of a portfolio of clients. This is a work-from-home contractor role offering flexibility and the opportunity to grow with the firm.

Key responsibilities

- Review financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

- Review SMSF financial statements and tax returns

- Review BAS and other compliance work as required

- Review work prepared by accountants before it reaches the Directors

- Manage client queries and provide practical tax and business services advice

- Liaise directly with clients on tax and compliance matters

- Manage jobs through the workflow and ensure deadlines are met

- Follow up outstanding client information





- Identify tax planning and advisory opportunities

- Identify out-of-scope work and ensure additional services are appropriately scoped and billed

About you

- Strong Australian public practice experience in tax and business services

- Experience at Senior Accountant, Supervisor or Manager level

- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation

- Experience reviewing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and SMSFs

- Confidence dealing directly with business clients

- Solid review and problem-solving skills

- Ability to manage client work and deadlines independently

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting systems

- CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent experience
