The opportunity
Moonlight Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Clinical Trainer & Assessor to lead practical clinical education and competency assessment across the organisation.
The position will deliver and coordinate training in high-intensity supports and related clinical care practices. Relevant areas include complex bowel care, complex wound management, enteral feeding and management (including PEG feeding), severe dysphagia management, diabetes and insulin administration, medication administration and manual handling. Training will be tailored to participant-specific support needs, current care plans, internal policies and applicable NDIS requirements.
Working closely with operational leaders and frontline Employees, the successful applicant will help build a capable, accountable and confident workforce. The role offers the opportunity to make a direct and lasting contribution to the quality, safety and consistency of support delivered to Moonlight Care participants.
Key responsibilities
• Plan, deliver and evaluate practical clinical training for Moonlight Care Employees in high-intensity support areas and related clinical practices, including medication administration, complex bowel care, complex wound management, enteral/PEG feeding, severe dysphagia management, diabetes and insulin administration, and manual handling.
• Conduct practical observations and competency assessments, provide constructive coaching and feedback, and coordinate refresher training or follow-up support where required.
• Maintain accurate training and competency records, and contribute to training materials, assessment tools and continuous-improvement activities.
• Ensure education is practical, participant-specific and responsive to relevant support needs, risk controls and escalation arrangements.
About the successful applicant
The successful applicant will be a current Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration and a strong commitment to participant safety, dignity and quality care. Demonstrated experience delivering clinical training and assessing workplace competency is essential.
Demonstrated experience in high-intensity supports and related clinical education is essential, particularly across one or more relevant areas such as complex bowel care, wound care, enteral/PEG feeding, dysphagia management, medication administration and diabetes or insulin administration. Manual handling training experience is also essential. Relevant experience may have been gained in disability services, aged care, community care, acute care or another comparable clinical environment.
A clear and supportive facilitation style, strong written and verbal communication skills,
and the ability to translate clinical requirements into practical learning that Employees can confidently apply are required.
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or an equivalent trainer and assessor qualification, will be highly regarded. Applicants without this qualification are encouraged to apply where substantial experience in training, coaching and competency assessment can be demonstrated.

Appointment is subject to current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and Moonlight Care’s applicable pre-employment screening requirements. These may include an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid/CPR, unrestricted driver licence and evidence of the right to work in Australia, as relevant to the final position requirements.
