About the role

Charter Care Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and compassionate Team Leader/Disability Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Rouse Hill, NSW. This is a part-time position that combines hands-on disability support with team leadership responsibilities. As a Team Leader/Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and support to people with disabilities whilst also providing guidance and mentorship to support workers within your team. This role is essential to our mission of enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities through person-centred care and support.

Key responsibilities

- Provide direct disability support services to participants, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and community participation

- Lead and supervise a team of support workers, ensuring they deliver services in accordance with Charter Care Services' standards and values

- Monitor the performance and conduct of team members, providing constructive feedback and coaching to promote professional development

- Coordinate scheduling, rostering and resource allocation to ensure adequate coverage and service delivery

- Maintain detailed and accurate client records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements

- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and internal stakeholders regarding support plans and outcomes

- Identify training needs within the team and facilitate professional development opportunities

- Promote a culture of person-centred care, respecting client dignity, autonomy and individual needs

- Respond to incidents, complaints or concerns promptly and appropriately, escalating as necessary

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support service quality enhancements

What we're looking for





- Recognised qualification in disability support work or a related field (such as Certificate III or IV in Disability or Aged Care)

- Demonstrated experience as a disability support worker, with a proven track record of delivering compassionate and person-centred care

- Current or previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within community services or disability support

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse participants, families and colleagues

- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage competing priorities

- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Disability Services Act

- A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance / Blue card

- Current First Aid and CPR certification

- Reliable transport and valid Australian driver's licence

- A genuine commitment to empowering people with disabilities and promoting their independence and social skills

Non-Negotiable Experience & Capability

- Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in disability in Australia

- Hands-on experience with personal care, (stoma, manual handling, hoist, catheter, follow wound management or pressure care plan.)

- Demonstrated ability to support participants safely in the community

- Fluent in English, with excellent communication and documentation skills

- Reliable, versatile, and compassionate
