Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Geography Teacher (Secondary) to join our dynamic team. However, teachers with experience in other subject areas are also encouraged to apply. These are full time, ongoing positions, commencing preferably in November 2026. Applicants must have full Australian work rights.

The Gippsland campus aligns with Tanglin Singapore’s calendar which runs on the Northern Hemisphere school year schedule. Additionally, the campus operates on a modified 7 day a week timetable, offering students mainstream subjects while, at times, utilising the great outdoors and beautiful Victorian Alps as a classroom. This will provide the opportunity to produce exciting schemes of work that bring inquiry and rigor to the fore. The curriculum is experiential in nature, requiring teachers to be brave in combining classwork with the outdoors and bringing the best out in all students because of a deliberately cutting-edge pedagogy.

Due to the nature of the campus and its residential programme, teachers are expected to live on campus to help provide around-the-clock care and supervision of students.

Tanglin is mindful of its responsibilities as an employer, and rosters will ensure appropriate breaks, rest periods and term holidays to help maintain a healthy work-life balance. When not teaching or involved in duties or activities staff can be at home or off-site.

Application

In your application, please provide the names and email addresses of three people from whom confidential references may be obtained.

Please indicate their professional relationship to you; for applicants currently working in a school, one referee should be your present Head of School.

The closing date for applications is 9:00AM (AEST) on Wednesday, 23 September 2026.

Interview Timeline

The longlist of candidates will be reviewed and invited to interview online. Please note that applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews may occur prior to the closing date.

Successful candidates will be invited for final interview onsite in Gippsland in the week of 12 October 2026.

We reserve the right appoint at any stage of the recruitment process and to close this vacancy earlier if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to provide an Enhanced DBS disclosure certificate or equivalent.

The successful candidate will have, or will develop, familiarity with the National Boarding Standards (Australia), Victorian Child Safety Standards, Victorian Commission for Children & Young People Framework, VRQA accreditation, AHRC Children’s rights framework etc and be required to provide a current Working with Children (WWC) check and an updated Police Check (National Police Certificate).
