About the role

The Business Manager is responsible for owning and executing business operations across the company to support sustainable growth and ensure the profitable operation of the company. This role reports directly to the Managing Director.

You will play a pivotal role in managing the company finances, technology systems, human resources, compliance reporting, and ensuring all systems operate at peak efficiency.

We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic and forward thinking and is keen to embrace the opportunities that AI and new technologies will bring to the business.

Key responsibilities

Financial management and reporting, including preparation of end of year financial reports for external accountants.

Review and improve operational and admin processes .

Oversee and advise bookkeeping and payroll staff.

Control operating costs and ensure sales staff are working with current costings.

Oversee the purchasing, warehousing and installation functions to ensure optimal efficiency and accountability.

Review and act on key performance reports in consultation with the managing director.

Ensure strong debtor governance and decisive action on overdue or problem accounts.

Manage HR processes and oversee inductions and training of new staff.

Oversee and manage all insurances.

Ensure compliance with government and industry regulations.

About you

You will be a highly organised person with a keen eye for detail, take pride in maintaining high standards, and are constantly looking to improve processes or create efficient processes where none exist. You enjoy bringing order to complexity, ensuring things are structured well,



and maintaining accurate records that others can rely on.

- Over 5 years' experience in a business management or finance role, ideally within a trade or construction environment.

- A bachelors degree with accounting as a major.

- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and integrity.

- Exceptional organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

- Adept with technology, learning new systems quickly, and adapting to an evolving digital environment.

- Knowledge of Xero is essential and knowledge of Simpro would be advantageous.

- Experience identifying and implementing business and system improvements, governance, risk, audit, or compliance activities.
