About the role

Alloy Bearings Limited is seeking an Estimator / Tendering Engineer to take ownership of costing and pricing for the manufacture and repair of whitemetal (babbitt) bearings and precision-machined components. This role is critical in determining true manufacturing cost and advising sell prices to ensure profitable, competitive quotations. You will act as the key link between sales, engineering, and production—turning technical enquiries into commercially sound opportunities.

Key responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates and advise sell prices across new manufacture, refurbishment, and repair work
Ensure all quotations reflect true production requirements and align with company capability and commercial objectives
Costing and pricing
Quotations and tendering
Technical and production liaison
Systems and documentation
Continuous improvement
Sales and customer support

About you
Trade or engineering qualification (Mechanical, Fitting & Turning, or similar)
3+ years' experience in estimating
Robust understanding of manufacturing processes
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
Solid commercial awareness with strong numerical and analytical skills




Experience with ERP/MRP systems
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Full driver's licence and reliable transport
Ability to pass pre-employment drug and medical testing
