Role Description This is a full time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Newcastle, NSW.
The Occupational
Therapist will provide evidence-based assessment and intervention to clients, focusing on promoting independence, functional capacity, and participation in daily activities. Day-to-day tasks include conducting comprehensive evaluations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and documenting clinical progress and outcomes. The role involves working with diverse populations, including children and adults, delivering therapeutic programs, educating clients and families,
and contributing to continuous service improvement and research-informed practice.
The Occupational
Therapist will also participate in career development activities and support teaching or supervision as required.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy, including client assessment, intervention planning, and delivery
Knowledge of Medicine and Rehabilitation principles relevant to multidisciplinary care and functional recovery
Strong Communication skills for working with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Experience or interest in Pediatrics, including assessment and intervention for children and young people
Recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body
Experience in clinical or community-based practice, preferably within a healthcare or academic setting
Ability to work collaboratively, manage caseloads effectively, and use electronic health records
Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and culturally safe, person-centered care
