Senior Software Engineer | Brisbane | Hybrid

Medbill is looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join our growing health-tech engineering team.

This is an opportunity to help build and scale a modern healthcare SaaS platform, within a well established Services company, and to explore how AI can be genuinely applied within medical operations, not simply used as a developer productivity tool.

You’ll work on real-world opportunities to use AI to automate complex workflows, that partners alongside humans to assist operational decision-making, and fundamentally rethink processes that have traditionally relied on significant manual effort.

What you’ll do
Design and deliver significant features end-to-end
Build secure, scalable software using TypeScript and Node.js
Help shape our AWS architecture and technical direction
Identify prospects to apply AI and automation to real healthcare workflows




Work directly with operational users to rapidly test and refine current approaches
Mentor other engineers and help lift engineering capability
Use modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI

What we’re looking for
6+ years’ commercial software engineering experience
Strong TypeScript, Node.js and AWS experience
Experience owning technical decisions and delivering complex software
Genuine interest in applying AI to difficult, real-world problems
Solid communication and mentoring skills

React, PostgreSQL, AWS CDK and healthcare experience are highly regarded.
