Key Responsibilities
Provide daily care for puppies and adult dogs, including feeding, fresh water and general wellbeing checks.
Clean and maintain kennels, puppy areas, yards and other animal facilities to a high standard.
Assist with exercising, socialising and handling puppies and dogs.
Monitor animals for changes in behaviour, health or wellbeing and report any concerns promptly.
Assist with bathing, grooming and general presentation of puppies when required.
Help prepare puppies for appointments, customer visits and collection.
Maintain accurate cleaning, feeding and animal-care records.
Assist the wider Puppies Downunder team with general duties required to keep the facility clean, organised and running smoothly.

Must-Have Skills & Attributes
Genuine confidence and care when working with dogs and puppies.
Reliable, punctual and able to follow established procedures.
Comfortable with hands-on work, including cleaning kennels and animal areas.




Physically capable of being on your feet and performing active duties throughout the day.
Robust attention to detail, particularly regarding animal health, hygiene and safety.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Positive communication skills and a positive, practical attitude.
Willingness to learn — previous animal-care experience is highly regarded but not essential.

About the Role

Puppies Downunder is looking for a reliable and caring Animal Assistant to join our team in Morwell. This is a hands-on position working directly with our puppies and dogs and helping maintain the high standards of care, cleanliness and wellbeing across our facility.

This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals, isn’t afraid of physical work and takes pride in keeping animal environments exceptionally clean and well organised.
