About therole:
As Manager, State Eventsyou willlead the successful delivery of Ageing Australia's program of State conferences, member events and activitiestoensure they meet the needs of Ageing Australia Members and other key sector stakeholders.
Youwill work within a collaborative team, reporting totheDirector,LearningandEventsand interact closely with internal experts,membersand external stakeholders.
Please note that this is a full-time fixed term position with an end date of6 August ****.
This role can be done from anywhere in Australia.
Keyresponsibilitiesinclude:
Lead,designand deliver Ageing Australia's State Conferences andevents, aligned tostrategicobjectivesandmember needs.
Lead the State Events team, setting priorities, managing performance andworkloadsand supporting professional development.
Develop annualand three-year event plans, including event strategy, programs,venuesand budgets.
Lead conference program development, including themes,content,speakersandsubject matter expert engagement.
Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, suppliers,governmentrepresentativesandindustry leaders.
Support event sponsorship and trade exhibition sales, including customised sponsorship packages and sponsor relationships.
Work with Marketing and Communications to deliver event marketing campaigns and strengthen brand visibility.




Manage event suppliers,contracts,logisticsandoperational requirements.
Identifyand manage event risks,contingencyplanningandoperational continuity.
ManageState event budgets, revenuetargetsand financial outcomes.
Monitor and report on event performanceto inform future event strategy.
Aboutyou:
To be successful in this role you willhave:
Demonstrated experience developing conference or event programs, including researching industrytrends,identifyingcontentopportunitiesandworking with subject matter experts or content producers to develop engaging educational content.
Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in event management, business,marketing,communicationsora related discipline.
Strong leadership,stakeholdermanagementandinterpersonal skills,withdemonstratedexperienceleading and developing high-performing teams through coaching, performance management, workload planning and fostering a collaborative culture.
Critical thinking skills and experiencedeveloping,implementingandmonitoringstrategicand operational plans.
High-leveldigitalproficiency,including experience across event and marketing platforms, formats and channels, and conference management IT systems.
Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to evaluate, negotiateandinitiateactivities.
Strong time management and organisational skills,withdemonstratedabilityto manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, support internal teams as a businesspartnerand respond effectively to internal and external stakeholder needs.
Strong event execution skills,withdemonstratedexperiencein conference and events management processes and procedures.
Excellent customer service skills,



with the ability toprovidetimely,accurateandprofessional service across all levels of the organisation.
Ability to work collaboratively in a rapid-paced, team environment with a 'can do' attitude.
Willingness and ability to work outside normal business hours, with some nationaltravelrequired(TOILpolicy in place).
Knowledge, experience, and/or understanding of the key stakeholders and challenges facing the aged care sector.
Experience using event management,CRMand project management systems (e.g.EventsAIR, HubSpot andClickUp) to support event delivery,stakeholderengagementandproject management.
Excellent financial literacy, budgeting,research,reportingandevaluation skills.
