About this role:
Teachers are a part of a teamresponsible for providing high-quality programs that contribute tostudent success, both academic and social and for ensuring that allstudents learn in a secure and secure environment.
A teacher isrequired to set a high standard of professionalperformance,adherenceto all College regulations, personal self-discipline,dress and appearance.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
Prepare comprehensive semester planners inline with departmental policies.
Follow school policies and procedures withregard to curriculum, student management,monitoring,assessmentand reporting.
Attend all curriculum days(includingintercampuscurriculum days) throughout the year.
Ensure that the school andclassroomenvironmentsare safe, conducive to learning and promoteacceptable behaviour.
Be involved in the pastoral care andcounselling of students in conjunction with otherappropriateprofessionals.
Communicate student progress to parentsthrough weekly work samples or assessments, students' books andassessment and reflection folders each term, interviews andformal semester reports.
Implement (from time to time)extra-curricular activities, extra periods,
yard duties, sportsduties, school camping activities, supplementarycourses,competitionpreparations, entrance exam duties.
Use Information andCommunicationTechnologiesto present engaging and challenginglearningexperiences.
Plan and present learning experiences thatare student centred and outcomes focussed.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Minimum of Bachelor degree in arelevantdiscipline.
Minimum of 12 months relevant experience.
Current VIT registration.
Update/acquire First Aid Level 2certificate with EPIPEN skills.
Ability to integrate IT into the curriculumand teaching practice.
Interpersonal skills toeffectivelycommunicatewith students and colleagues.
Able to manage pastoral issues relative tostaff, students and parents through effective dialogue andprocess.
Well-developed report writing and oralcommunication skills.
Up to date knowledge ofcontemporaryteachingapplication and theory.
