Own and evolve the multi-brand design system across HomeMade and Mable
n
Make decisions on the system's structure, priority, and direction
n
Design and maintain design tokens, components, and patterns across both brands and web and mobile
n
Establish and evolve the design system's connection to AI tooling, including Claude and Claude Code
n
Audit component usage, identify inconsistencies, and drive consolidation
n
Write documentation and usage guidelines for designers and engineers
n
Partner with engineers to keep design and code in sync and ensure components are implemented and quality checked
n
Set and uphold design system governance
n
Lead the cross-functional Design System Guild
n
Champion accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA standards
n
Advocate for the design system across the organisation and support designers in using and contributing to it
n
Continuously improve the system using feedback, usage data, and AI-assisted workflow insights
n
Work with product designers across HomeMade and Mable, engineering teams, and the AI platform team
n
Participate in the Customer Experience team with support from design managers and product designers
n
n
Requirements
n
n
8+ years as a product designer, with 4-5+ years specifically owning or heavily shaping a design system
n
Portfolio demonstrating strong systems thinking, reusable components, and systems across multiple products
n
Advanced Figma skills, including component libraries, variants, variables, and design tokens
n
Experience working with a multi-brand or multi-product design system
n
Practical experience using AI tools like Claude in a design workflow
n




Curiosity about how design systems and AI tooling should work together
n
Robust collaboration experience with engineering, including getting components built and shipped
n
Solid understanding of accessibility standards and practical application
n
Clear written communication for documenting decisions and guidelines
n
Confidence making and owning system-level decisions
n
Demonstrated autonomy in setting direction and making system-level decisions
n
