We are seeking a Full‐time Permanent Senior Consultant Surface Water Expert – Perth, based in West Perth, Western Australia.

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Senior Surface Water Expert with site‐based experience who is looking to take the next step in growing their consulting career in a technically talented Perth‐based team where you will be able to innovate and develop your ideas.

Responsibilities
n
n
Provide specialised consulting services to clients, both in the office and in the field, locally and internationally.
n
Use detailed technical knowledge and varied field experience to provide timely advice, recommendations, and project work across a wide range of commodities and projects.
n
Develop leadership and mentoring skills by supporting and guiding more junior staff in Surface Water and Hydrogeology development.
n
n
Qualifications and Experience
n
n
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, or Engineering Geology (master's or PhD preferred).
n
7 + years experience in the mining, exploration and/or mining consulting industries.
n
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
n
Language fluency in English and ability to contribute to high‐quality technical reports.
n
Experience in site‐based work, including:n
n




Technical input for water‐management studies and investigations from scoping through to feasibility and detailed design.
n
Development of
hydrological/hydraulic
models for flood risk assessment and mapping, detailed catchment analysis and peak flow estimation.
n
Development of probabilistic water‐balance models for mining operations.
n
Creation of surface water management plans that comply with legislation and best‐practice guidelines such as clean‐and‐dirty water separation.
n
Development of surface water monitoring systems, including site verification and installation of key equipment.
n
Some experience in project management: scoping, budget control, planning, scheduling, and staff coordination.
n
n
Familiarity with Australian Rainfall Runoff (ARR) guidelines.
n
Competence in ArcGIS, QGIS, and hydraulic/flood modelling software (e.g. HEC‐RAS, TUFLOW, RORB, Goldsim, MIKE).
n
Ability to work within a diverse team.
