The Brisbane office of a leading international insurance firm is continuing its impressive growth and is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join its highly regarded General Liability team.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance litigator looking to take the next step in their career, working closely with a leading Partner on sophisticated defendant insurance matters with a particular focus on general liability matters.
n

The Role
n
You will work closely with one of the firm's leading General Liability Partners, acting for major insurers and other clients across complex and often high‐value insurance litigation.
n
Your work will include:
n
n
Defendant personal injury litigation
n
Managing matters from inception through to resolution
n
Acting on complex dust disease and asbestos matters
n
Advising insurers and clients on liability, quantum and litigation strategy
n
Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, correspondence and advices
n
Taking ownership of matters and driving them forward
n
Working closely with Partners and the broader General Liability team on sophisticated disputes
n
n
This is a hands‐on chance offering strong client exposure,



complex and technically challenging work and the opportunity to take genuine ownership of matters while working alongside highly regarded practitioners in the insurance market.

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
Senior Associate or Special Counsel level experience
n
Strong experience in insurance litigation
n
Dust disease and/or asbestos experience
n
Confidence managing matters autonomously and taking ownership of files
n
Strong client communication and relationship management skills
n
A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high‐quality outcomes
n
A genuine desire to continue developing your career within a leading insurance and risk practice
n
