Highgate Healthcare is looking for an organised, commercially minded and proactive Purchasing & Inventory Coordinatorto join our Adelaide team.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership — managing purchasing, building strong supplier relationships, maintaining appropriate stock levels and making sure the right products are available when our customers need them.

The Opportunity
n
As our Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator, you will play an important role in ensuring our products are available when and where they are needed.
n
Working across procurement, suppliers, inventory and internal stakeholders, you will take ownership of purchasing activities and help us maintain effective inventory levels across a diverse and growing product range.
n
This is not simply an administrative purchasing role. We are looking for someone who can understand the bigger picture, anticipate requirements, identify issues early and take action.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
Coordinating purchasing and procurement activities across our product range.
n
Preparing and managing purchase orders from placement through to delivery.
n
Maintaining effective relationships with Australian and international suppliers.
n
Monitoring stock levels, demand and upcoming purchasing requirements.
n
Supporting inventory planning and maintaining appropriate stock availability.
n
Monitoring supplier lead times and proactively managing potential supply issues.
n
Following up outstanding orders, backorders and delivery discrepancies.
n
Maintaining accurate purchasing, product and inventory information within business systems.
n
Working closely with sales, warehouse, operations and management teams to understand upcoming requirements.
n
Reviewing inventory movement and identifying slow-moving, excess or potentially obsolete stock.
n
Supporting stocktakes, inventory reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies.
n
Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory controls and supplier performance.
n
Assisting with pricing, freight and other purchasing-related information where required.
n
Providing transparent reporting and updates on purchasing, inventory and supply issues.
n
Contributing to broader operational and continuous-improvement initiatives.
n
About You
n
You may already be working as a Purchasing Coordinator, Procurement Officer, Inventory Coordinator, Supply Chain Coordinator or in a similar role and be ready to take greater ownership.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
Previous experience in purchasing,
procurement, inventory or supply chain coordination.
n
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
n
Exposure to international shipping and logistics.
n
Experience working with inventory or ERP/business management systems.
n
Confidence dealing with suppliers and following issues through to resolution.
n
Strong Excel and general systems capability.
n
The ability to analyse information and make practical decisions.
n
Good commercial awareness and an understanding of the relationship between purchasing, stock levels and customer demand.
n
The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
n
Clear and professional communication skills.
n
A proactive approach — you identify what needs to happen and take responsibility for progressing it.
n
Experience within healthcare, medical equipment, aged care, disability, wholesale, distribution or another product-based environmentwould be advantageous but is not essential.
n
