Job Description
Health & Safety Manager | Major Regional Construction Project
n
Spinifex Recruiting is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a major long-term construction and infrastructure project based in regional New South Wales.
n
This senior leadership role is responsible for leading the health, safety and wellbeing function across a large project portfolio, ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement and supporting the safe delivery of works.
n
The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, governance and operational support while partnering closely with project leadership teams, contractors and stakeholders.
n
The Role
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Leading the health, safety and wellbeing function across multiple project work fronts.
n
Driving a positive and proactive safety culture.
n
Providing expert WHS advice to operational and project leaders.
n
Managing risk management processes, audits, inspections and assurance activities.
n
Leading significant incident investigations and corrective action programs.
n
Monitoring contractor compliance and safety performance.
n
Supporting workforce capability through coaching, mentoring and training initiatives.
n
Analysing WHS performance and reporting trends to senior leadership.
n
Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, standards and management systems.
n
Building strong working relationships across project, contractor and stakeholder groups.

About You
n
To be successful in this position you will possess:
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience in WHS leadership roles.
n




Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, transport, rail, mining or similar project environments.
n
Demonstrated experience leading and developing WHS teams.
n
Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and ISO ***** principles.
n
Experience leading complex incident investigations.
n
Strong auditing, assurance and contractor management capability.
n
Proven ability to influence and support senior operational leaders.
n
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and reporting skills.
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
Bachelor qualification in WHS, Construction, Engineering, Environmental or related discipline.
n
Lead ICAM or equivalent investigation qualification.
n
Internal Auditor qualification.
n
RTW Coordinator certification.
n
Current driver's licence.
n
Senior First Aid certification.
n
n
Desirable:
n
n
Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
n
Occupational Hygiene qualifications.
n
n

Salary package of $220,000 - $270,000
n

Location

This position is based in the Wagga Wagga region of New South Wales.
