About the role
n
As Teacher in Charge of Computing, you'll combine excellent classroom teaching with subject leadership, supporting the Head of Mathematics to deliver consistently high standards across Computing.
n
You'll be a subject expert and a key source of guidance for other teachers, contributing to curriculum development, assessment, resources and career development while ensuring students receive an engaging and rigorous learning experience.
n
This is a full-time role based within our Greenwich campus, reporting to the Head of Department, with 2 release periods out of 22 teaching periods for subject leadership responsibilities.

What you'll do
n
n
Teach Computing expertly and deliver engaging, high-quality online lessons
n
Support the Head of Department in implementing departmental priorities
n
Provide advice, guidance and subject expertise to other teachers
n
Contribute to the development of schemes of work, curriculum plans and shared teaching resources
n
Keep up to date with changes to examination specifications and relevant requirements
n
Coordinate and/or develop tests and examinations
n
Assess and mark student classwork and homework and maintain accurate assessment records
n
Support the appraisal and career development of departmental colleagues as agreed with the Head of Mathematics
n
Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and student learning
n
Create and maintain a positive, supportive and academically challenging learning environment
n
Contribute to departmental meetings, parent/teacher meetings and wider school initiatives
n
Support students' pastoral wellbeing and work closely with the Head of Department and Deans when concerns arise
n
Contribute to the wider life of CGA through school events and activities
n
n
The role combines curriculum leadership, assessment, communication, resource development, professional development and pastoral responsibilities.

About you
n
n
A qualified teacher with strong subject expertise in Computing
n
Experienced in teaching Computing at secondary-school level
n
Confident planning and delivering rigorous, engaging online lessons
n
Knowledgeable about relevant examination specifications, assessment and curriculum requirements
n
Able to support, advise and develop other teachers
n
Confident using technology and digital learning platforms to enhance teaching
n
An effective collaborator who can work closely with academic and pastoral teams
n
Committed to your own professional development and the development of others
n
Organised, reliable and committed to maintaining high academic standards
n
An excellent communicator with students, parents and colleagues
n
Passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment in which students can excel
