About the role
n
We are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineerat Laing O'Rourke in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Lead the design, development and optimisation of scalable cloud-based data solutions and pipelines.
n
Deliver high-quality data products that enable reporting, analytics, AI and data-driven decision making.
n
Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and technology teams to translate requirements into solutions.
n
Drive best practice in data engineering, governance, quality, security and continuous improvement.
n
Mentor team members and contribute to the evolution of our enterprise data platform and analytics capability.

About you
n
n
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with strong expertise in SQL, data modelling and ETL/ELT development.
n
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Spark and modern cloud data platforms.
n
Skilled at engaging stakeholders, gathering requirements and delivering practical business outcomes.
n
Strong understanding of data governance, quality, performance optimisation and scalable architecture.
n
Passionate about emerging technologies, including AI, with a collaborative and continuous improvement mindset.
n
