Mordialloc Community Centre (MCC) is seeking an experienced, energetic and community-minded General Manager to lead our organisation into its next phase of growth and development.
n
For more than 60 years, MCC has provided affordable recreational, educational and community development opportunities that foster wellbeing, participation and social connection for people of all ages. Today, we are a vibrant and diverse community hub, with more than **** people engaging with the Centre each week, over 35 staff and 200 volunteers, and a broad program of recreation, sport, health, wellbeing and community activities.

About the opportunity
n
Reporting to the Committee of Governance, the General Manager will provide overall strategic leadership and operational management of MCC.
n
This is a genuinely hands-on senior leadership role. You will work closely with the Committee, staff, volunteers, community, government and other stakeholders to ensure MCC continues to deliver high-quality programs while building a strong and sustainable future.
n
You will balance strategic leadership with day-to-day operational delivery, providing clear direction while remaining connected to the people, programs and community that make MCC special.
n
Key areas of responsibility include:
n
n
Leading the implementation of MCC's three-year strategic plan and providing strategic advice to the Committee of Governance.
n
Overseeing financial management, budgeting, financial performance and organisational sustainability.
n
Leading the development and delivery of high-quality recreation, wellbeing and community programs.
n
Building and growing MCC's sponsorship, grant and partnership opportunities and diversifying revenue streams.
n
Leading, developing and supporting staff and volunteers while fostering a positive, inclusive and engaging workplace culture.
n
Ensuring strong governance, compliance, risk management, child safety, OH&S; and psychosocial safety practices.
n
Maintaining high standards of customer service and efficient administration.
n
Overseeing facilities, contractors,



operational systems and business continuity.
n
Building strong relationships with Kingston City Council, the Department of Education, government agencies, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
n
Representing MCC within community networks and advocating for programs and services that enhance community wellbeing and participation.
n

About you
n
We are looking for a capable and values-driven senior leader who can bring together strategic thinking, commercial awareness, operational discipline and genuine community leadership.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
Demonstrated senior management experience in a community, recreation, not-for-profit or related environment.
n
A tertiary qualification in Recreation Management, Community Development, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
n
Strong financial management experience, including budgets, financial reporting and organisational performance.
n
A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff and volunteers in a service-based organisation.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship-building and partnership development skills.
n
Experience working with government bodies, funding agencies and community partners.
n
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build consensus.
n
Experience in governance, compliance and risk management.
n
Strong technological capability, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with financial systems such as MYOB.
n
Experience in sponsorship, grants, fundraising or partnership funding will be highly regarded, as will experience in volunteer-based organisations and knowledge of the Neighbourhood House, sport and recreation or not-for-profit sectors.

The role requires flexibility across MCC's operating hours, including evenings and weekends.
n
Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period and ongoing satisfactory performance.
n
A current Victorian Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and First Aid & CPR qualification are required.
