The Position
n
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Officer to oversee the maintenance of our Laverton North division. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will be hands‐on with a strong background in facilities management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to co‐ordinate and carry‐out multiple projects across multiple locations on occasion – 3 sites within a 2km radius.

Key Responsibilities
n

Coordinate the day‐to‐day maintenance of facilities across the Sydney metropolitan area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes and standards.
n
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all facilities, including preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
n
Supervise and manage contractors to support the ongoing operations of these facilities.
n
Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement among all who work and support our business.
n
Prepare maintenance/repair requirements and manage the quotation process, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost‐effective maintenance practices.
n
Identify and implement cost‐saving measures without compromising safety, quality and cost.
n
Oversee relationships with external vendors and contractors, including negotiating quotes and ensuring service levels are met.
n
Plan and execute facility improvement projects, including renovations, upgrades, and repairs.
n




Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within cost expectations.
n
Ensure that all work undertaken complies with all building codes and health & safety regulations.
n
Able to conduct adhoc inspections and checks of facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
n
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
n
Prepare monthly report on facility maintenance issues, action and costings for the Head of Logistics.

About you
n
n
Detail orientated tradesman with hands‐on experience in building and facilities management and repairs.
n
Relevant building certifications, licences or trade qualifications in a relevant field.
n
Minimum of 3 years of experience in building and or facilities management, maintenance, renovations or repairs etc.
n
Welding experience highly regarded (oxy and arc)
n
Solid knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
n
Proven communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a diverse number of contractors and collaborate with various stakeholders.
n
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
n
Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite.
