Job Description
You've built the relationships. You've earned the reputation. Now, what do you want to do with it?
n
For the right person, this could be an opportunity to have a far greater impact than simply winning the next project.
n
Our client is an established and highly regarded Sydney commercial construction business with a strong reputation for quality, trusted client relationships and delivering outstanding outcomes.
n
They have built an exceptional foundation.
n
Now they're ready for the next stage.
n
With an ambitious leadership team, a highly regarded culture and a clear appetite for continued growth, the business is looking for an accomplished industry professional who can help strengthen its position in the market and influence where it goes next.
n
This isn't about bringing someone in to simply "do BD".
n
It's about bringing someone into the business whose relationships, judgement, market knowledge and credibility can genuinely make a difference.
n
Someone who understands the Sydney construction market.
n
Someone who knows how to turn conversations into relationships, relationships into opportunities and opportunities into long-term partnerships.
n
And importantly, someone who wants the opportunity to help build something rather than simply inherit it.
n
The Opportunity
n
Reporting to the Director - New Business and working closely with the broader leadership team, you'll take a leading role in the growth, relationships and market positioning of the business.
n
You'll have the autonomy to develop relationships in your own way, the support of an experienced leadership team and genuine influence over the markets, clients and opportunities the business pursues.
n
This is a role for someone who understands that the best business development often happens long before a tender lands.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
Developing and executing a targeted growth and client partnership strategy.
n
Building and strengthening relationships with developers,
clients, consultants, architects and key industry decision-makers.
n
Identifying opportunities early and positioning the business strategically ahead of the market.
n
Developing current client relationships while strengthening an already established network of repeat clients and partners.
n
Working closely with pre-construction and delivery teams to convert the right opportunities into successful projects.
n
Representing the business across industry events, client engagements and strategic networking opportunities.
n
Bringing meaningful market intelligence, competitor insight and commercial thinking into the leadership team.
n
Helping shape the long-term market positioning and continued growth of the business.
n
About You
n
You've built your career by earning trust, maintaining relationships and understanding what genuinely matters to clients.
n
You know the difference between being well connected and being genuinely respected.
n
You'll bring:
n
A strong track record in Business Development, Client Partnerships, Growth or a similar senior position within Sydney's commercial construction market.
n
An established and relevant network of clients, consultants, developers and industry stakeholders.
n
Genuine credibility within the market and a reputation for building lasting professional relationships.
n
The ability to identify opportunities well before they formally come to market.
n
Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of what makes an opportunity right for the business.
n
The confidence to engage with senior decision-makers and represent the business at the highest level.
n
A strategic mindset combined with the willingness to remain personally connected to clients and the market.
n
A collaborative, low-ego approach and the ability to work closely with pre-construction, delivery and leadership teams.
n
Above all, you'll understand that great Business Development isn't about being the loudest person in the room.
n
It's about being the person people trust enough to call.
n
What's in it for you
n
A highly attractive executive remuneration package with a lucrative performance-based incentive structure.
n
A genuine leadership position where your ideas, relationships and market knowledge will carry real weight.
n
The autonomy to build and execute a growth strategy rather than inherit someone else's formula.
n
The opportunity to work closely with an ambitious, accessible and commercially minded leadership team.
n
An established platform, excellent reputation and strong delivery capability behind you when you go to market.
n
A collaborative culture with exceptional employee retention and people who genuinely enjoy working together.
n
The opportunity to help take an already successful business into its next stage of growth.
n
Long-term career potential and the chance to create a legacy within the organisation.
n
You may not be looking for another Business Development role.
n
That's exactly the point.
n
This opportunity is aimed at someone who has already built a successful career and is beginning to think about what they want the next chapter to look like.
n
More influence. More autonomy. A closer connection to leadership. And the prospect to see the direct impact of the relationships and reputation you've spent years building.
n
If you're successful where you are, we're not expecting you to simply walk away from it.
n
But we do think this opportunity is worth a confidential conversation.
