Proactive Health is a national ecosystem of over 40 allied health businesses across 350+ locations in Australia. We bring independent clinic owners together under a shared commitment to clinical excellence, giving them the governance, development infrastructure and operational support of a large network while keeping the personalised, community-driven care that smaller practices do so well.
Our clinics run as genuine multidisciplinary teams. Exercise physiologists work alongside physiotherapists, podiatrists, occupational therapists, dietitians and social workers, coordinating care and learning from each other day to day.
We service clients across DVA, Medicare (EPC), NDIS, Home Care Packages, private health and workers' compensation, one of the most diverse and clinically rich caseloads an EP can have.
About This Clinic — Wodonga
Let me be upfront about the shape of this one. We're starting with a part-time role, think 2 to 3 days a week, with real scope to build to more as the caseload grows. You'd split your time between a local medical centre we've partnered with and the gym. That partnership is already generating around 16 Medicare referrals a week, which works out to more than 6 hours of clinical time, and a handful of those are DVA, a promising sign of where this is heading.
Wodonga sits on the Victorian side of the Murray River, paired with Albury just across the border in New South Wales. Between them the two cities are home to around 100,000 people, which makes this one of the largest inland communities in the country and a genuine regional hub for health, defence, education and logistics. Melbourne's about three and a half hours down the Hume when you want it.
The clinic services Wodonga, Albury and the surrounding Hume and Murray communities. Your caseload will be genuinely varied, DVA veterans, NDIS participants with physical and psychosocial disabilities, Medicare EPC referrals for conditions like diabetes, COPD and cardiovascular disease, and aged care clients working to stay independent at home. The region's strong defence footprint means a meaningful veteran and DVA cohort, and the manufacturing and logistics base keeps a steady workers' compensation and return-to-work caseload coming through the door.
Tom Kearney leads the team here and has a real passion for developing clinicians who want to make an impact in regional communities. The leadership style is supportive, practical, and built around giving people the tools and mentorship to build a long-term career.
Wodonga also offers exceptional liveability. Housing is affordable, you're on the doorstep of Victoria's High Country and the alpine snowfields, Lake Hume is right there for the water, and the surrounding wine regions make weekends easy. For an EP who wants meaningful clinical work with real regional lifestyle behind it, this is a role worth exploring.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This role gives you the chance to work across a broad spectrum of funding streams and patient demographics. You'll deliver individualised, evidence-based exercise programs covering chronic conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, functional capacity building and more. The depth and variety of the caseload means continual qualified growth and genuine clinical challenge.
Significant engagement with DVA clients means meaningful work supporting veterans with complex needs, alongside cases funded through Medicare, NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers' compensation and private sources. It adds up to a well-rounded and rewarding practice.
What Your Week Actually Looks Like
A typical week might involve initial assessments, home visits, and individual or small group sessions built around tailored exercise interventions that move the needle on client outcomes. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists, so care stays coordinated and clients keep progressing.

Designing and implementing tailored exercise programs across multiple settings
Managing a diverse caseload spanning DVA, Medicare (EPC), NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers' compensation and private clients
