We are responsible for delivering high quality public education to over 34,000 students across 153 government schools. Our diverse student population includes over 14,000 Aboriginal students, and 49% of all students have a language background other than English. Our schools span across six regions: Darwin, Top End, Big Rivers, East Arnhem, Barkly and Central.

What we offer:

An attractive salary commencing from $92,215 - $131,349 (based on your years of classroom teaching experience) + 17.5% leave loading.
n
12 weeks leave (6 weeks recreation leave and 6 weeks stand down leave per annum), 3 weeks personal leave per annum and cultural leave.

What you'll be doing:
n
n
Plan, prepare and explicitly deliver quality and effective teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and relevant curriculum policies, work programs and educational trends.
n




Support students through interaction in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
n
Provide for the physical, social, cultural and emotional well-being and safety of students whilst at school.
n
Regularly assess students (diagnostic, formative and summative) for developmental, feedback and reporting purposes.
n
Maintain student records and samples of work and report on student performance to students, parents, the department and other stakeholders as required.
n
Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships between the school, parents and community.

All applicants must be registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB) of the Northern Territory and have a current Working with Children Notice (Ochre Card) from SAFE NT or have the ability to obtain both.
n
All applicants completing initial teacher education (ITE) courses after 1 July **** are also required to provide proof of successful completion of the national Literacy and Numeracy Test for ITE students.
