Hands-On Group Financial Controller / Senior Accountant – 2 Days Per Week

Two Days per week, based in the Northbridge office and reporting directly to the Managing Director and Directors, you will take responsibility for the accuracy, timeliness and organisation of the group's financial information. This hands‐on senior finance role combines bookkeeping, payment runs, management accounts, cash‐flow control and commercial advice across property, hotels and development. You will manage regular bookkeeping, reconciliations and payment processes, produce useful management reporting, and work with external accountants, lenders, hotel operators, project managers and consultants.

Key responsibilities
n
Process and correctly code supplier invoices, expenses and other financial transactions across multiple entities
n
Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier statements, debtor follow‐up and payment due dates
n
Prepare weekly payment runs, upload payments to banking platforms and ensure that each payment has appropriate supporting documentation
n
Complete bank, credit‐card, loan, merchant‐facility and other balance‐sheet reconciliations
n
Process or coordinate payroll, superannuation and related payroll obligations
n
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, loans and cost allocations
n
Build and maintain a rolling week cash‐flow forecast covering the group and each material entity or project
n
Produce concise monthly management accounts, budgets, reforecasts and variance analysis
n




Prepare a practical weekly owners' dashboard identifying cash commitments, overdue items, project expenditure, funding requirements and emerging risks
n
Monitor project expenditure and financially review progress claims against approved contracts, budgets and available funding
n
About you
n
CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent senior accounting experience
n
At least eight years' relevant experience in a senior accountant, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similarly hands‐on commercial finance role
n
Strong experience working across multiple companies, trusts, loans, projects or cost centres
n
Property development, construction,
hotel/accommodation,
real estate agency or private investment experience
n
Demonstrated bookkeeping, accounts‐payable, reconciliation and payment‐processing capability
n
Solid cash‐flow forecasting, management‐accounting, financial‐modelling and Excel skills
n
Confidence using Xero or comparable cloud accounting software, online banking platforms and management‐reporting tools
n
Experience working with banks, debt facilities, project funding and external tax advisers
n
High standards of accuracy, confidentiality, organisation and follow‐through
