About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane
has an exciting opportunity for a
Staff Specialist Rheumatologist
to join the team in this
part-time maximum term leave coverage
opportunity.
The position will be
8 hours per fortnight
from
3/3/27 to 7/4/27
inclusive.
As a Staff Specialist you will be managing outpatients and inpatients at Mater Hospital Brisbane.
The role involves supervision of junior doctors, including basic physician trainees and an advanced trainee.
You will take part in, and assist in organising, departmental Career development activities and department education sessions.
Responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
Oversee the management of new and existing rheumatology outpatients, including biologic applications.
Participate in the inpatient consult service as needed
Assist with education, supervision and training of junior doctors, medical students, and other health professionals.
Work collaboratively with the Rheumatology CN and fellow Rheumatology Consultants
Report to the Clinical Director of Rheumatology
About you
To be considered for this role, the successful applicant must:
Be a Consultant Rheumatologist with current specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia and fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), or be eligible for such registration by February ****.
Have the ability to manage complex rheumatological disorders
Have an excellent knowledge base and positive clinical skills
Have excellent communication skills and work co-operatively within a team
Demonstrate strengths in teaching and Continued Professional Development
Manage patients with compassion and with a patient-centred approach
