Looking for a people-focused role where the relationships you build really matter?
We're looking for a full-time Regional Liaison Officer to support workers participating in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme across the Werribee area.
For workers who have travelled from Pacific Island nations to live and work in Australia, you'll be a familiar face and trusted point of contact throughout their placement - helping them navigate everyday life, access support, stay connected and feel at home in their local community.
This is a unique role combining wellbeing support, advocacy, community connection and practical assistance.
If you enjoy working independently, solving problems and building genuine relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, this could be an incredibly rewarding next step.
What you'll be doing As a Regional Liaison Officer, you'll build strong relationships with PALM Scheme workers and provide ongoing pastoral, practical and wellbeing support.
You'll: Meet regularly with workers and build trusted relationships Welcome current workers and support them to settle into their community Assist with medical appointments, transport, accommodation and other practical needs Provide wellbeing support, advocacy and guidance Help workers navigate workplace or personal concerns Connect workers with community services, activities and local networks Liaise closely with host employers and the broader MADEC team Identify concerns early and coordinate appropriate support Promote worker health, safety and wellbeing Facilitate toolbox meetings and support WHS requirements Provide after-hours support when required Who we're looking for You might come from community services, multicultural support, employment services, disability or aged care, healthcare, education,
youth work or another people-focused environment.
You don't need to tick a particular career box.
What matters is your ability to connect with people, earn their trust and confidently navigate situations ranging from everyday practical support through to more sensitive wellbeing concerns.
You'll bring: A genuine desire to help and support people Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong knowledge of Werribee and the surrounding community Confidence working autonomously and using initiative A calm, practical approach to problem-solving Strong organisation and attention to detail Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email A current driver's licence and willingness to travel locally Because workers can sometimes require urgent or time-sensitive assistance, being locally based and able to provide timely, face-to-face support across the Werribee area is important to this role.
Why join MADEC?
This isn't a role where your impact disappears into a spreadsheet.
You'll see it in the relationships you build and the people you help.
You'll enjoy: Full-time, meaningful employment with genuine community impact A varied role combining wellbeing, advocacy and practical support Autonomy while remaining part of a supportive wider team The opportunity to build strong local community relationships Working alongside people from diverse cultures and backgrounds Ongoing training and professional support If you're looking for a role where empathy, initiative and relationship-building are just as important as what's written on your CV, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and help PALM Scheme workers feel supported, connected and at home in their local community.
