This position is only open to applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent pursuant to Section 56 (2) of the Equal Opportunity Act, **** As an Aboriginal Workforce Officer, you will contribute to initiatives to attract, recruit, retain and develop the Department for Child Protection's Aboriginal workforce.
Based in the Adelaide CBD, you will contribute to implementing and continuously improving strategies, policies and processes that support organisational objectives.
This is an opportunity to use your coordination and collaboration skills to turn workforce priorities into practical action, supporting a more inclusive and culturally responsive workplace.
Drawing on your understanding of Aboriginal communities and trusted connections, you will help strengthen Aboriginal representation and participation across the organisation and contribute to positive change for Aboriginal people and communities.
In this role, you will: Plan, deliver and evaluate Aboriginal workforce projects and initiatives Coordinate Aboriginal Traineeship and Cadetship programs, liaising with participants and providers Identify targeted recruitment opportunities and facilitate culturally appropriate selection processes Contribute to cultural support and mentoring initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal workforce outcomes Build connections with Aboriginal employees and communities to better understand workforce needs.
About you: You confidently coordinate projects and competing priorities, taking initiative to keep work moving You bring knowledge of HR,
recruitment and selection practices, with a focus on culturally secure approaches You build trusted relationships with Aboriginal employees, communities and organisations You facilitate sensitive conversations, resolve conflict and use negotiation to achieve positive outcomes You communicate clearly, provide sound advice and use digital tools to develop presentations and formal documents.
