Working directly with the owner and General Manager, you'll help shape how finance operates as the group expands to 10 entities.

managing competing deadlines and identifying what needs attention before it becomes urgent.
Your responsibilities will include: Managing accounts across multiple related entities, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations and loans.
Preparing timely monthly reports, cash flow forecasts and budgets that support commercial decisions.
Monitoring construction job costs, development budgets, project funding, property loans and profitability.
Supporting projects from acquisition and funding through to construction, costing, contract-related financial matters and sale.
Working with external accountants and advisers on transaction structuring, tax planning and compliance.
Establishing and improving financial controls, systems and processes as the business grows.
Using automation and practical AI tools to streamline administration, improve reporting and increase efficiency.
You'll have room to bring your ideas and make improvements, alongside the responsibility to keep day-to-day finance running reliably.
About you: You're an experienced, hands-on accountant with direct experience in construction or property development .
You understand project-driven cash flow, funding requirements and the importance of reliable financial information when several deadlines are moving at once.
You take ownership,
ask the right questions and act on what needs to be done.
You're comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a small team.
You'll bring: CA or CPA qualification and a degree in accounting or finance.
Experience managing accounts across multiple entities, including intercompany balances and loans.
A strong understanding of construction job costing or property development budgets, funding and project profitability.
The ability to prioritise competing deadlines, anticipate issues and follow through without constant direction.
Confidence working directly with an owner and GM, explaining the numbers clearly and raising issues early.
Strong Excel and accounting systems skills, with practical confidence using AI and automation tools.
A willingness to handle the detail yourself while shaping the broader finance function.
Sound judgement, integrity and a practical, commercially minded approach.
You may already be a Financial Controller or Finance Manager, or a Senior Accountant or Group Accountant ready for broader ownership.
Your relevant industry experience, judgement and ability to deliver matter more than your current title.
This role is based in the company's Melbourne offices.
A police check forms part of the recruitment process.
