ASAP start available Working away from home NSW Government contract About the Role You will join our Government client's established road maintenance team undertaking labouring, construction and maintenance activities across the regional road network.
The work is physically active and will involve hand and power tools, machinery and plant while supporting experienced road workers, plant operators, drivers and supervisors.
Travel and working away from home are expected , currently anticipated at up to five days per week through to the end of the contract.
Pay Rate: $***** per hour + superannuation Location: Fernbank Creek Expected Duration: ASAP - 19 December **** Travel: Working away from home required Key Responsibilities Perform general road construction, maintenance and civil labouring activities Assist with pavement repairs, drainage, roadside maintenance and other civil works Support plant operators, truck drivers and skilled workers on site Assist with traffic management and work-zone activities where appropriately qualified Operate rollers, loaders, excavators or other plant where competent and authorised Complete pre-start checks and basic inspections of tools, vehicles and equipment Assist with site establishment, clean-up and safe movement of materials Follow Protected Work Method Statements, traffic management requirements and site procedures Identify hazards and report safety, equipment or site issues promptly Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators and other road crew members Complete basic work records and operational documentation as required Comply with WHS, environmental, quality and fatigue-management requirements Work overtime,
travel and stay away from home when operationally required About You To be considered, you must have: Current Construction White Card Current Workers on Foot ticket (or willingness to obtain) Current and unrestricted driver's licence Previous construction, roadworks or civil labouring experience Experience using hand and power tools in a construction environment Ability to undertake repetitive and physically demanding outdoor work Ability to work safely around traffic, heavy vehicles and mobile plant Reliable and team-focused approach to work Flexibility to work overtime and away from home when required Ability to complete a National Police Check Valid long-term Australian working rights - no employer sponsorship is available for this position Highly Regarded: Traffic Control tickets (TCR, IMP, PWZ) Current MR or higher truck licence Roller operating competency Excavator operating competency Loader operating competency Our Client Our client is a major NSW Government transport organisation responsible for maintaining and improving road infrastructure across NSW.
