About the Role We are looking to welcome a proactive and motivated Key Worker to our Community Services team.
About the Nexus Community Services team Our Community Services Team delivers services to clients across Tasmania, in three areas: Community Access – supporting clients to access events and activities in their community including social events, shopping and school.
Capacity Building – supporting clients to develop the skills and experience they need to achieve their personal goals including cooking, cleaning, and socialising.
Customised Employment – supporting clients to determine their work goals and connecting them with the training and employment opportunities that best suit them.
Our services are delivered in the community, in client homes, and in our own Hubs.
Key Responsibilities As a Key Worker with our Community Services Division, you will: Support clients to build their capacity, access their community and achieve their own personal goals.
Communicate effectively with clients, families and colleagues including written, verbal and non-verbal communication.
Show understanding of the NDIS, including the impact on clients, their families and the community.
Manage emergency situations using the appropriate processes and procedures Demonstrate a positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities.

About you Successful candidates will have the following (Selection Criteria): Ability to relate to clients as participating members of society whilst respecting their level of knowledge and skill Ability to build rapport with a wide range of people.
Willingness to learn and a positive, open mindset.
Effective communication skills, including written, verbal and non-verbal.
An understanding of the NDIS and its impacts on clients and families.
Ability to manage emergency situations and stress.
Demonstrated positive approach to the rights of people with disabilities.
Ability to assist in the implementation of training programs for clients.
Working in the disability sector means you will also need the following: Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old) Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (with a NDIS endorsement /employment type) Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011) Unrestricted Tasmanian Driver's license How to apply To apply for this role : Please apply via the form here.
